This week, I've been working on putting together a presentation of Suburban Scavengers for Indienomicon. I skimmed through all of my blog posts since June and collected information that I think people may find interesting. I ended up with 20 slides.
Presentations are weird. The last one I did with Dess M-8 had me a nervous wreck and had a bunch of technical difficulties. I'm already a bit nervous about this one, even though I know most of the Indienomicon crowd already.
Public speaking is a hurdle for me. I generally speak when spoken to. When I have to basically initiate the entire conversation by myself and have no feedback it becomes a bit daunting. I think doing a bunch of Doom Ninja Podcast episodes has probably helped a bit with that. I guess I'll find out tonight at my presentation.
This weekend, it is slated to do a personal game jam with Kale. We're going to crank out a game over the course of 2 days, starting Sunday morning and ending before 8:00pm Monday. We already have a concept that seems possible though it has ideas that I've never actually implemented before. In theory, I can do them and they'll work correctly. XD Be prepared for some strange and artsy stuff.
Otronicon is fast approaching. January 14th and 15th I'll be immersed in the gamer ocean, trying to get as much support behind the Suburban Scavengers greenlight as possible. It's going to be a loooooong weekend. Saturday I'll be there from 8:45am to 11:30 pm with an hour and a half break. Sunday, it'll be 9:30 - 5:00. I got 2 hotel rooms for the crew on Saturday night. It should be a hoot.
That's all for today. Keep an eye open for an update on how the presentation went and how crappy the new game is!
Until next time.
