Onward to Victory!

The last few days have been filled with crazy fear and anticipation and momentum and....whoa.

I put in my 2 week notice at my paying job. That's the big one. I do not yet have another job lined up, but I have allowed myself a bit of time to get that straightened out. I'm going to start talking to local game developers about possible job openings in the central Florida area. If that doesn't pan out by early to mid September, I will start lowering my standards for employment.

Leaving a job is scary, but I am not happy with the work that I'm doing and I feel that I can make a more comfortable living doing something that is less stressful and more gratifying than what I'm doing now.

Studio news; Recorded another episode of Doom Ninja Podcast. You can find details about it in the podcast section in the menu at the top of the page. I also started work on victory animations for the characters in Suburban Scavengers. The male player will be riding a victory unicycle.

This is the original art for the unicycle. The resolution of the game does not allow for the finer details to show, but I thought it would be good practice to make the art a higher quality.

I have torn this piece of art apart and put it into Spriter to allow for animation. I now have the riding animation which is basically the full victory animation! Woo hoo! Now I just have to make it endlessly loop from left to right after the victory conditions are met and I'll be golden.

Today, the plan is to make a vocal shield to help increase the sound quality of the Doom Ninja Podcast and watch some Game of Thrones and eat some lasagna! Aww yeah.

Until next time.
